GLAD, along with coalition partner EqualityMaine, are leading a campaign to overturn the vote which make same-sex marriage in the state of Maine illegal. In educating the public of the inequality faced by same-sex couples, GLAD and coalition partners were seeking a way to collect and better organize the personal stories of inequality Mainers shared with them. We partnered with GLAD to launch MaineTheWayItShouldBe.org, a community site where residents of Maine can read stories of inequality shared by others around the state and submit their own stories to help change the public perception of marriage equality.
